Any pictures of University Theater, or the old Paradise Records when it was still on Highland?

I can't seem to find either of them anywhere.

I understand that BTDT threads are everywhere, nostalgia threads are everywhere...and yet I've searched and found nothing.

Any pictures of that area from '85 - '95. The squat houses, the Carlotta street party, the IHOP, the torn up parking lot in front of the grocery store, and the gates that kept the grocery carts within 20 feet of the doors, The Varsity inside when it still showed Rocky Horror at midnight on Saturdays, as for movies the Union Theater that was half underground and showed cool stuff.

Punks on Chimes Street. The Bayou full out, The Library full of misfits. The entrance to the LSU "tunnels." Being able to walk freely through all of this and LSU too without being afraid of imprisonment. Murphy's was the beginning of the end.

LSU Union before the remodel. The pool table area, or the bowling area, or the ping pong tables, or the lockers and seating, or the arcade games, or the snack bar (which sold beer.)

the IHOP

I was piss drunk at the back entrance of Kirby Smith and watched Andrew blow the roof off of this place.

Went on a few adventures down there. Lots of Ramones, Iggy Pop, and other graffiti about bands from the 70's down there. We always entered between Pentagon and the Greek theater. Talked my roommate into going one time and he insisted on bringing holy water.

They used to have live bands in the union during spring testing for incoming freshman. It was so laid back in the 90's. Saw Drivin' and Cryin cover Smells like Teen Spirit at Murphy's right after the song hit big and I thought the building was going to collapse.

This is a weird thread, but yes, I'd like to see some of these photos too. I can't even remember what most of that stuff looks like anymore.

My dad remembers "The Library" (the original one), "The Bengal", and "The Flying Tiger"

My mom used to run the union theater and was responsible for shite: So Happy It's Thursday

There's a blog with pictures of that whole area from the 1920's-30's up through the 70's. Unfortunately I forgot to bookmark it, but it's fascinating.

Late 80's to mid 90's was good times in that area. I remember seeing bands play in the corner in the chimes.

Heinemann's Old Style in wax cups, FTW. What was it, a buck or two bucks for a 20oz cup? Spent many afternoons getting tanked there before heading over to Tiger Band practice.

What was the name of that place adjacent to the Chimes that had Drinking With Lincoln - $5 all you can drink?

Also loved the free afternoon pool at the Bayou.
