TA's Tavern. Mondays were dollar mug refills. A 32oz. mug filled with whatever you wanted. Mine was always filled with rum and coke...

Well that really would have come in handy for me in 1978.

Also loved the free afternoon pool at the Bayou.

When I was there, the Bayou had longnecks for a quarter on Wed. & Fri. afternoons. And the shite Dogs were usually playing. I've still got a t-shirt that says "Walk In, Crawl Out".

I didn't acquire it until the 90's so I couldn't have helped ya. The dates on it are from the 90's as well but I'm sure some exist somewhere that are much older.

There were all kinds of rumors that there were secret societies that held meetings down there and that one of the frats was operating a casino and shite like that. We tromped around down in those tunnels for months and didn't find shite.

what was up with all the hot punk girls going barefoot??

there was like a 2-3 year timespand when every girl walked around with absolutely BLACK feet.

i don't think lye & bleach would even be enough to fix that.

Everyone I knew at LSU (including myself) should be in jail. We climbed up on top of Nicholson & broke into the observatory. We climbed on top of most of the buildings in the quad; Dodson was a favorite. We drove cars on sidewalks through campus. Almost got caught doing that by the Campus Po-po. Good times.

All I ever found were godawful smells, bugs and standing water. Was pretty cool at first but then you realized it's just some tunnels for the maintenance dept. Nothing special but I like hearing the rumors and urban legends.
