MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – Top college soccer coaches are finalizing plans and canvassing support for changes that would extend the men’s season over the full academic year.

The proposals recommend a 25-game season split between the fall and spring semesters. Individual conference championships would be held early in May with the showpiece NCAA College Cup following in early June.

Sounds cool, but doesn't affect LSU at all.

I'd rather they decide that this is America schools should be able to add NCAA sponsored Men's Soccer if they want to, Title IX or not.

I honestly wish that college soccer would break away from the NCAA and work closer with MLS.

Title IX is a big albatross that is preventing men's college soccer from expanding.

No possible way they could survive without the NCAA.

True. Only possible option I could see would be if USA soccer/MLS would financially back it. Though I doubt that cost would be worth it.

MLS/US Soccer's developmental budget should only be used for youth academies.

NCAA rules hurt college soccer

I was at WVU when Cameron was there and used to play pick up with some of the guys on the team. Probably played with him and didn't even know it. Friend of mine who was the keeper went down to Brazil.
