Don't we play Oakland again right after this series? I think its Oak, Miami, then Oak again.

Luckily the A's series doesn't start until tomorrow. Enjoy this night before they continue their onslaught of the Astros

sometimes i am happy I don't have comcast so i am not compelled to watch these games

how much time the Luhnow get to say this:

quote:

On having the extra pick (second) next year?

“We’ll have to see how next year’s draft class develops. I think the slots are going up, so we’ll have the equivalent resources to spend in the draft, it’s just going to be next year instead of this year. I think it’s a one-year delay, and when you’re picking a young high school player, the chances of you getting someone next year that beats him to the big leagues is pretty good. I’m not that concerned about it. Obviously our fans are disappointed, we’re disappointed, because you take a 1-1 hoping to sign him, expecting to sign him. And it didn’t happen.”

I understand there are a ton of moving parts to this situation but god damn i really don't want to hear how we are going to be rebuilding for the next decade.

Lunbows plan is following the pirates blue print...they got it done in 18 or 20 short years.

Gregor proved me wrong @ Lancaster.

At least I can admit it and embrace the promotion.

The quote would seem to indicate the opposite of what you think he's saying.

Gregor certainly has a nice hit tool and walks more than he Ks which is nice. it will be interesting to see if his power numbers were inflated by lancaster of if he can actually develop 20-25 HR power.

Unless they pick another highschool kid. The stros are damn frustrating. I don't think they finish above .500 for the next 3 years.

boy you went out on a limb there pal. LUnhow's plan is clearly laid out and it has 18 stages. we will be competitive in 16 years if things fall the way he is planning.

Everybody needs to calm down.

Losing 2 high school pitchers in a draft does not set us back from competing on the major league level.

And it would have taken Aiken 7 years to reach the bigs. Look at Folty. He's been in the system for 4 years and hasn't sniffed the big club yet. Luhnow does not rush pitchers...period.

Now...if all that crap gives us such a shitty reputation to the point that no free agents want to sign with us, and nobody wants to be drafted or traded by/to us, then I'll have a big problem

I don't think people would argue otherwise. and it's 3 pitchers btw

it's more of a symptom of a larger problem...

The kid is 17.

Not unrealistic to imagine he wouldn't spend a full year with the big club until age 24
