Try using some of the old army surplus, Vietnam War-era, skeeter dope we used back-in-the-day. That stuff worked wonders, but it would also take the finish off of your gun. God help you if you got it in your eyes.

Be careful spraying a high DEET product on your watch too. Will mess up the face.
