Could Darius Miller be the answer at SF?

Maybe the reason Dell did not pursue a starting caliber SF in FA or via trade was due to the team's confidence in Darius Miller. I know that he has not played much in his first two years but I think he does have the tools to be a solid forward in the NBA. He's 6'8 with great range from the outside. He has the potential to be a solid defender as well with his length and intelligence that he was known for at UK.

Thoughts?

Looks like a forced option. Willing to give him a try.

I have been think this, I was very disappointed when we released him and hoped we would resign him which we eventually did. He is the perfect 3 and d player for our team, a guy that won't demand many shots but can knock down the ones he does shot. Very underrated defender I think as well

I like some of the energy he can bring in but he hasn't been a very good shooter. At best is a backup.

except that he shot 32.5% from three last season

He had a bad season last year outside of a couple of games. The injuries early on in the season hurt his development and it took awhile before he was able to get going.

He shot 39% from downtown his rookie year. I am not worried about him as a shooter. He certainly has the tools to be the answer but he has to show that he's ready to defend and make the correct rotations. My biggest gripe with his is his mediocre rebounding rate. He really needs to hustle more.

Possible eventually, if he keeps developing. But barring an unpredictable breakout year, no, not this year.

I think we didn't pursue a starting-caliber SF because we knew we were a lot more tied down this offseason compared to the last two, and decided that filling the gap at C was more important. It's a lot easier to get by with a rotating cast at SF than at C, as we saw last year. All we really need from the SF spot is 3&D, and from the later moves we made it's obvious we're just going by committee with that in the hopes of being "good enough" this year there. We can figure out the SF spot next offseason

He's definitely not terrible. I enjoyed watching him on the floor much more than Aminu. He showed that he could be more than a corner three guy.

Probably best as a backup, sure, but I wouldn't mind giving him decent minutes to see how he fits.

he's pretty terrible...had a few good games...shot better as a rookie on 56 attempts and regressed this year. I don't why anyone would be comfortable with him as a 3 and D guy.

...his PER skyrocketed to 9 this season

24 year old second round pick who has done nothing. He'll probably be in the D-league soon

No. His ceiling is a rotation player.

He did some good things at the end of the year, and we don't really have a choice, so..

What we need out of the SF is pretty limited so I won't completely dismiss him, but he hasn't shown enough for anyone to assume he'll step up. Is the potential there? Yes. Is he likely to be the guy we need, the evidence we have so far says no.

Absolutely not. The only reason he is on our team is because he is AD's boy.

There is only one solution and his name is Al Farouq Aminu. If you do not believe me then watch this: LINK
