This is beyond fricking terrible. This may very well be the worst movie I've ever seen in a theatre

Quit being dramatic. It wasnt very funny but if it's the worst you've seen then you haven't seen many.

Typical Melissa McCarthy movie...

This review explains it best: LINK

quote:

It’s a desperate and brainless vehicle for Melissa McCarthy, which she wrote herself, with her husband, Ben Falcone, who also directed, with all the efficiency and verve of an abandoned Volkswagen on the Jersey Turnpike. There isn’t a single shred of evidence that either of them has one iota of talent in the world of filmmaking. Tammy is not just a celebration of everything vulgar and stupid in the dumbing down of American movies. It’s a rambling, pointless and labored attempt to cash in on Ms. McCarthy’s fan base without respect for any audience with a collective IQ of 10. And it’s about as funny as a liver transplant.

quote:

The purpose of every Melissa McCarthy movie is the same: Take the most repulsive loser you can conjure up and make her sympathetic and lovable, proving you can find beauty in anything if you look hard enough. This one fails to even do that.

She is the female version of Adam Sandler.

Adam Sandler was actually bearable at one point, she has no redeeming quality what-so-ever

He had two good movies. The Heat was somewhat bearable. He's been around for longer, but they both equally suck, IMO.

I actually think she can be funny in small doses. She was great on SNL and good in Identiy Theft. But Tammy was not funny.

Still, if this is the worst movie you've paid to see then you've been more fortunate than most. It was nowhere near as bad as Crystal Skull, Legion, or the latest Die Hard.

A description of The Heat could read, "Melissa McCarthy gets grumpy while struggling to do basic police duties because she's fat".

She was hilarious in Bridesmaids.

She just can't carry a movie by herself. Even if she wrote for the movie.

IMO, Billy Madison and Happy Gilmore. I might be stretching it with saying they're "good", but they were funny at the time.
