I was talking to a local music director regarding the current sound of country music. All seem to be emulating the bubble gum Taylor Swift sound. The new Kenny Chesney even sounds like a blend of Swift and hip hop. She said it's called Bro Country and is popular with the younger peeps.

I wonder in 1981-82 how many people thought George Strait was killing country? Old farts like us.

For the record I hate it too. Any mention of a truck is like they've stopped trying. I wonder who, if any of them, will shake out and be relevant in 10 + years?

Only scared record company execs who didn't care for his cowboy hat and traditional sound.

Thanks for the Sturgill Simpson link. This gives me hope.

Maybe I'm becoming a "classic" as I am drawn to classic rock and classic country.
