Lewis is an idiot. Stop playing the shift and he will stop bunting.

I am a Rangers fan & I cannot defend this. These stupid so-called unwritten rules of baseball are idiotic. I just lost so much respect for Colby.

I wish more hitters would try to hit the other way against the shift. All the shifting that teams do is already getting old so kudos to rasmus.

Great response from Rausmus. Lewis needs to stop being a pussy and focus on improving on his 6-7 record. What a butthurt bitch.

So if you're up by two and there are two outs you should just get out rather than extend the inning? Lewis sounds like a complete idiot. I don't know why everyone doesn't do this against the shift.

I might could understand this if it's like a 10 run game, but it's fricking 2 runs. The next guy could come up and hit a home run and he'd look like a genius. That's not the way the game should be played? What an idiot.

That is one of the dumber things I have seen baseball players get mad at. Apparently, if you bunt then you have to steal within the first two pitches or you are selfish

something tells me this is losing frustration boiling over. I doubt if we were even playing .500 ball he would've said anything

That's just him being a bitch. Hell I think a shift is more chicken shite then what he did. If they don't have anyone over there i would do this all of the time until they stopped doing it

“I told [Rasmus] I didn’t appreciate it,” Lewis said. “You’re up by two runs with two outs and you lay down a bunt. I don’t think that’s the way the game should be played.”

When pressed further on what the problem with Rasmus’ bunt was, Lewis insinuated that the outfielder put himself before his team.

“I felt like you have a situation where there is two outs, you’re up two runs, you have gotten a hit earlier in the game off me, we are playing the shift, and he laid down a bunt basically simply for average,” Lewis said.

pitcher is wrong here.

the shift sucks, so why blame him for dropping a bunt single.. i know i don't.. the shift has to get frustrating as a hitter..

i was hoping this was maybe about protecting a no hitter or something, but that is not the case.
