Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Tennessee, the largest health insurer in the state, is upping its exchange premiums by an average of 19 percent
So the same as NY insurers just requested..

Unfortunately, there's no "BOOM" here.
The VAST majority of Obamacare exchange enrollees in Louisiana are getting subsidies. They'll never see this increase.

Up until October '13 I was self-employed. Had been since 2010. Wife was stay-at-home, so I had a fairly high deductible self-insured family plan with no maternity coverage (we figured we'd negotiate with hospital).
Had been costing us around $600/mo. Last September, got a letter in the mail from BlueCross, stating that our plan did not fit with one of the government-approved plans. We could keep our current plan through December 31, 2014 at a premium of $660/mo.
However, beginning in January 2015, our new "affordable" plan would kick in, with a price tag of $1,100/month.
Guess what...I'm no longer self-employed. I was fortunate enough to move on to an upgrade in my profession. However, those who are currently self-employed and can't piggy back off a spouse's employer coverage...They are about to by F-ed, thanks to President Barack Obama, Senator Mary Landrieu, and all the other pieces of crap in Washington, D.C.

But are the increases proportional to the subsidies they will receive?

They will see an increase. Subsidies are a percentage of ther premium.

Quit being selfish and think of the smiling faces of all of those without jobs that have coverage now thanks to Obamacare and that little bit extra that you are paying.

I happen to be the person in my company that handles the Healthcare contracts with providers. We are a small tech firm with about 25 employees. We have BCBS of LA currently and pay 100% of employee premiums at a cost of about $375K a year. We have had rate increases of 21% in 2013 and 14% for 2014. I will find out in October what next years will be. Our owner wants to continue the 100% but at the rate of increases will simply not be able to sustain it. This is a shitstorm that unfortunately is not going away. BTW our average rate increase before Obamacare was about 7%.

I understand there are people who will always see things differently than me. However, you really are a piece of shite hack.
No better than that Ann Coulter bitch.

Sorry bub, but it is a 100% fact that Bobby Jindal allowed a massive gap to form by refusing to extend medicare coverage.
