What's the quietest option for urban pest hunting- I don't want to use a detachable supressor.

I can't give you an exact brand or model, but I'd look for a subsonic .22 caliber one. The new hot .177's are pretty damned loud.

My Nylon 66 is ridiculously quiet. About half as loud as my buddy's new .177 Benjamin

I have made a few silencers for my CZ-452, and all you can hear is the click of the firing pin and the bullet passing through whatever material I use

I have a Gamo Hornet .177.

Its not very quiet but I can hit a tennis ball from 40 yards and ive killed 2 possums with it so it does pack a pretty good punch.

I have the .22 Crosman Nitro Venom. After bore and piston break in, it's very quiet and accurate. I've killed several coons with it.

No, I posted it 2 and a half hours before

.22 subsonic bullets
IMHO, they sound no different than regular bullets. I have shot a few brands with not much discernable difference between subsonic and regular

I bought a Daisy pellet/BB gun (the pump 10 times kind) like I had when I was a kid to take care of a squirrel problem. I was disappointed at how many point blank shots it took to kill a squirrel (and I'm still traumatized from the time we had to shoot a raccoon 40 times in the face to kill it when I was a kid ). I bought a nice custom .22 Ruger from a guy a couple years ago, and he had a custom-made silencer (the illegal kind) that he wanted an extra $150 for. I still kick myself in the arse for not buying it.

I have a Gamo Whisper .22 and it is not quiet, despite the "whisper" in the name

My old .22 with shorts or subsonics is much more quiet than the air rifle

I shot one with a pellet gun about 30 times, he fell out of the tree, and I shot him probably 10 more point blank. Was still walking, so I 3 12ga shells in him, including blowing up his head and breaking his back. Bastard was still crawling, so I had to go primitive and chop him with an axe. I don't shoot raccoons or possums with pellet guns anymore

It's not like I'm fabricating them out of metal for sale to the general public. Tape a cut in half water or coke bottle on the end of the gun and stuff it with shite. Lasts a couple of shots and has to go in the garbage. Nothing new or fancy about that

It's a horrible feeling. We were like 12 years old, and we had the coon trapped in a scoop net. There were 3 of us just pumping and shooting, and it had very little effect.

Benjamin Marauder 22 cal. The loudest thing is the pellet impact and will shoot 1/2" groups at 40 yards on a still day all day. Poison that makes a 22 rimfire obsolete
