I've been thinking about it. Tired of taking melatonin in excess and antihistamines every night to fall asleep, plus I've had back problems since a hs football injury so I think I have a good chance. Who on here has had any luck getting one?

Illinois, just started this year
It's supposed to be a little more difficult to get one here. They don't prescribe strictly for insomnia but they do for chronic back pain so I think I have a shot

I've had one for over 10 years, it's the easiest thing ever. Just go to any weed doctor and they will hook you up.

That's what I've heard also, but I've been reading that Illinois is the toughest to get one for.

What did you say when you got yours?

I got mine in Cali and AZ. I went in and all of the places had high times in the waiting room. They give you paperwork like a normal new doctor visit so you can list why you need it. All of the times the doctor would come in and ask why I needed it, I told them it helped with insomnia and anxiety and boom I was out the door in less than 5 minutes. It's VERY easy and I bet they approve at least 99% of people who go.

Sweet. They don't approve it for insomnia or anxiety here, but I think I'll be good going with back pain. There's only one in the city so far so I hope I don't blow my chance

i got mine 6 years ago. great decision on my part.

I originally got mine for heartburn, but now its for my neck.

Anyway, make sure you...
* provide records on why your back hurts
* don't look like a hippy
* tell him you would never ever smoke it, you want it for edibles
* Take the prompts from the doc. he writes them all day every day, he knows what you need to say.

Colorado. They are stricter than cali and oregon for cards.

eta: bring in a script for vicodin and tell the dr you are SICK OF IT. you hate the way it makes you feel.

Unfortunately I haven't had a script of Vicodin in 4 years.

yes, wasn't a big deal with an on the job back injury and paperwork to back it up.

Only reason it was worth it (Oregon has more weed than you can shake a stick at) was to have a great choice of many strains and edibles at one location.

muscle relaxers? Script for PT?

Any documentation will help. Its worth a visit to the regular dr first to get some documetnation if you are worried.

hell, call the drs place first and say - what do I need?

I have scripts for antihistamines which I can say are for lack of sleep from back pain. Lost my non-narcotic PKs in the move so I guess I'll bring acupuncture receipts and go see a regular doc before I go
