re: Hulk from Avengers

thx for setting me straight, and sorry to speak out of ignorance earlier - i learned something new today.

for me, i'd have to go Superman...I mean if deadpool can kill the Hulk, then Superman would be ok.

I didn't know Deadpool actually killed the Hulk. How did he do it?

When it comes to Supes vs Hulk, the only question I have is can Supes heat vision cut through Hulk's skin and bones. If so, then Supes could just decapitate him, or cut him up into little pieces or something.

But since that would probably be Supes last resort, he may not come to that realization in time before the Hulk rips him to pieces.

re: Hulk from Avengers

actually Deadpool killed the entire Marvel Universe.

essentially he used some pym particles to shrink down some major explosives, and had the hulk ingest them - then detonated - killed him from the inside out.

Deadpool kills the Marvel Universe", Deadpool waited until Hulk calmed down and turned back into Bruce Banner.

As I said. Superman would never murder an innocent person, so he would never kill Banner.

Also the Deadpool kill was a fake universe nonsense book where he killed the marvel universe after obtaining immortality.

Nope.

The problem is the Sun. Superman can live at it's core, I'm not sure Hulk can.

re: Hulk from Avengers

The Hulk can go full rage mode whenever the Banner part of him is completely shut off. Like when Onslaught was trying to destroy humanity, Hulk had Jean Gray completely turn off the Banner part of his brain. He became a mindless ball of rage and whooped the shite out of Onslaught and destroyed his armor. I'm pretty sure telepaths can shut down Hulk's brain though.

The hulk has survived the heat of a Nuke.

The question would be, was that nuke hotter than the core of the sun.

The interweb isn't my friend. Several articles stated the atomic fusion was hotter than the core of the sun while several argued the core was hotter.

The Hulk was undamaged by the Nuke so I am going to assume the Hulk could take the core of the Sun.

But I admit Team Hulk bias.

Well then Supes has few advantages that can take out Hulk. {Probably closer to a stalemate more than anything else.

You're probably right, however, Supes was literally beaten to death by Doomsday. I don't think anyone has ever come close to taking hulk down with just a beating.

re: Hulk from Avengers

Yeah. Doomsday killed Superman and I am sticking with Superman being unable to kill Hulk and Hulk getting stronger to the point he can harm Superman.

Doomsday proved there was a point of strength greater than Superman.

Based on everything I have read, Superman would need to kill Banner before he became Hulk.

He doesn't have mental control abilities so don't bring other being's powers into the fight.

Straight up Superman vs Hulk, eventually Hulk wins and the damage to the world makes MOS look like a kid playing with those snake fireworks.

Also comes down to killing Hulk. Would Superman purposely set out to kill Hulk. Would he hold something back.

Hulk would not have that little moral pickle messing up his head.

re: Hulk from Avengers

Eh, they did a bad job of communicating it, but it's quite normal for the character. Banner isn't ALWAYS in control, it depends on what's going on around him. But he CAN be in control. The movie did both.

And do you forget the ROD? The entire inverted shot of the reflection in the Rod was a visual clue to tell you that the rod was taking control of everyone in the room (while also a nod to LOTR), including Banner. Hulk just needs to be set off in the wrong way and Banner is out, Hulk has complete control.

Many have speculated it's the Mind Control Infinity Gem, which would make sense, but that's nerd info only clearly that's why they needed to communicate it better. But in terms of story the shift in Hulk control is canon.

Whatever's convenient........

ETA: Hulk is a bad MFer, but let's be real.... Supes would frick his world up.

It would depend on if Superman could hold Hulk long enough to get him into space until Hulk passed out from lack of Oxygen. WHOOPS I am WRONG. Hulk has survived long term space.

Meh. Hulk would be pretty helpless in space and he's got no significant strength advantage over superman. Superman could push him towards the sun and there's nothing hulk could do about it.

If the fight went to space, the best we could hope for is that one of them would punch Sandra Bullock.

This would be awesome in 3-d. Debateable as to how cool it would be in 2-d

re: Hulk from Avengers

It isn't about "convenience." It's fairly clear.

LINK

Ok, Let's look at this first. The camera pans through arguing heroes then focuses on the Rod as it flips over. Why else would a DP do this other than to convey information that this is not what it seems like? These people are not acting on their own...THey are acting contrary ("upside down") than they normally would.

This is a very clear indication that the characters are not in control, the Rod is. Therefore, it can break Hulk. Which gels with Loki's stated plan of getting captured in order to get the Rod in Banner's presence, it will "unleash" Hulk.

Let's look at it further:

LINK

Here are the heroes arguing again. Notice at 43 seconds you see an undershot of Thor making him almost look drunk. Then Tony stumbles and rubs his eyes like he's under something. Then Banner talks about the "other guy," clearly as he picks up the Rod WITHOUT KNOWING IT.

Again, this is pointing to the Rod accessing the other guy and forcing him to pick up the scepter. Banner, who is notcurrently Hulk, does something that he doesn't control. Who does it? Oh yeah, "the other guy," specifically referenced in the sentence WHILE HE TAKES THE ACTION.

He then turns into the Hulk seconds later.

I see this referenced too many times as a knock on the Avengers. Like I said, it wasn't perfectly communicated. But it also doesn't come out of the dark either. The film is clearly trying to tell the audience, "Something is up," the rod flip shot and drunk Thor are giant red flags at least.

Seems like pushing hulk into the sun would just make him hot and piss him off, no?

The Hulk was undamaged by the Nuke so I am going to assume the Hulk could take the core of the Sun.

Was he undamaged by the nuke, or was he just able to regenerate after the fact? If he just regenerated/healed after the nuke, then it could be argued that he wouldn't be able to heal if he was in the middle of the sun since the damage would be continual. Now if the nuke blast didn't damage him at all, he probably wouldn't be phased by the sun.

But if Supes threw him into the sun, could he get out? Would the gravitational pull of the sun be strong enough to keep him from "swimming" out of it?

And Hulk's durability has always confused me. Some comics have bullets penetrating his skin, and in some he isn't phased by explosions. That's why I asked if Supes heat vision could penetrate his skin at bones.

How do you know? Fact, Superman has been killed by strength alone without Kryptonite.
Hulk's strength is infinite. They would start out at a stalemate and eventually Hulk's strength would surpass Doomsday.

As for the Sun, given his insane mutating power, we can't even begin to understand what might happen if in infinite rage, the hulk was burned and crushed while undying in the sun while going insane from the pain. While at the same time his cells start mutating under that intense pressure and heat.

For all I know, Hulk could re-emerge from the heart of the Sun more powerful than Galactus probably with an uncontrollable rage which would cause him to destroy Earth.

Probably wouldn't hurt Hulk, but he'd sure be out of earth's hair for a while.
