I'm confused... other than Career AVG (Jeter is at .311) he has all of those beat. Of course I'd rather have Jeter.

Yes, the Yankees did and do spend money. They also make a lot of money and I like that they put it back into the club. In those years they spent it wisely and won but there have been long stretches when they spent money and weren't very good. I find it unusual that certain fan bases say it's unfair when they play the Yankees and there is a 50 million dollar difference, but when they play say the Cardinals and almost the same money gap is in play it's never discussed and seems to be ok. And to answer your question, Jeter and it's not even close.

Nomar was an incredibly gifted player. His statistics at the plate from 1997 - 2000 were eye-popping. Unfortunately, the dude just couldn't stay healthy... at all.

I'd take Jeter without hesitation.
