LSU lost their QB, their interior D-Line, the best two receivers on the team, the best running back on the team, a starting safety, etc.

LSU will either start a true sophomore with one game as a starter under his built or a true freshman.

LSUs strong suit for years has been the interior defensive line. Even the best case scenario this year is that we may be as good as last year at the position...a down year by any measure.

While I don't expect LSU to lose more than 4 games, there is a great chance that they lose that many if we are honest.

2015 will be the year...2014 we are going to take some lumps I am afraid.

Personally I don't care about the praise. I'd rather fly under the radar. Your prediction may be right but I hope you are wrong.

And Les Miles is still the coach.

Rather be the team who is under the radar every year than the team who's expected to wreck shite any year

My question is why do people need it? Season will play out regardless of what ESPN " experts" think.

The biggest reason is LSU recruited very well for all their losses. LSU picked up a great RB to replace Hill, and two stud WRs... Both positions are relatively easy to translate to the next level. We got a ton of DTs that are very promising not to mention we already had some guys who were solid as backups.

LSU has never needed a great QB to win, we have done it for ages and our Defensive Backfield and LBs should be very very good this year. Not to mention we return a ton at O line.

While I agree with your assessment, I think that our O-line is in a very unique position to help us win tough games early (Wisc and MSU) allowing our QB, Receivers, Dline to gain experience to compete heads up with Auburn and Florida. If the coaches really put together great game plans and we get a few lucky bounces, we have a legit opportunity to play bama as an undefeated team.

I think that the combination of what could be the leagues best o-line and a stable of good-to-great running backs will really help us grind out some games and keep our Defense fresh not just through the whole game, but throughout the season.

The "Freak" was weak, and highly overrated.

It is "assessment"...and they have played us close in recent years.**

**LSU was in a very tight game headed into the fourth quarter last year with State.

Pretty confident our DL will be much more productive than last season. We'll probably get back up to around 2.5 sacks per game, which will make a tremendous difference.

Not to mention that this is one of the better LB units we've had under Miles. It's definitely the most athletic when Welter is on the bench.
