I'm trading my Note 3 for a M8 and want to make sure Its clean.. Whats the best way to check this?
IMEI? Is that a definite way? I saw that swappa allows you to check for free

Call in to your carrier and give them the IMEI # so they can check

Who's your carrier? You can always go to a store verify before the purchase. That's what I've done with my previous Sprint phones. With Sprint it's ESN.

Yea I've also done that. If Verizon allows you to activate online, you can do that also

when you go get the phone just call verizon and ask them to check to see if the phone is clean. and give them the number. once the verify it swap money for the phone. If the person selling doesnt want to do this, i wouldnt want to deal with him anyway.

Verizon lets you activate online. You will need your old phone to be active still because it sends a txt for confirmation. I think if you do it in store they charge a $10 fee.

there is no way to verify 100%.. if it was lost or stolen or a bill has gone unpaid, it could take weeks for the carrier to blacklist it..
size up the seller in person.
