what if every time you turned your car off, your wipers moved up 2 inches

so that when dirt and dust settles on the wiper, you can wipe it away when you get back into the car

right now, the wipers just sit at their lowest point all the time and then you get that hard dirt line that you can never wipe away.

I don't follow. Rotate up the glass 2 inches or off the glass?

Assuming the former, what advantage are you implying it provides towards you wiping it off?

so that it has a scrub motion(back and forth) over the dirt line

right now the end is deposits, so when the wiper returns it stops right at the deposit.

Use the right products on your windshield and this won't happen. Deposits will not accumulate.

Sounds good, but I'd get pretty lazy swiping the dust/leaves after a car ride. Unless I got a nice car. Even then, the monthly detail took care of that so it was bearable for the next month for me.

I mean it's not really an after market idea

BMWs have a few things similar...the glass on the windows goes down a half inch when you open the door...this is so that when you close it, there's no air pressure keeping the door from shutting. A split second after you close the door...the window goes up to engage the seal.

other vehicles have side mirrors that turn in...so the concept is there for the to have devices of the vehicle do logical things.

You know, back in the day they had pump jockeys that would clean your windshield, and check your oil, tires, fluid levels, hoses, and belts while they filled up your car with 25 cent/gallon gas. They took your cash or credit card and went into the station to get your change if necessary.

They still do in New Jersey and Oregon. Apparently the legislatures think the job is hazardous enough to require professional gas pumpers. It's illegal to pump your own gas.

I did this while in high school 10 years ago.

Or they see it as a viable job for the economy. I would rather pay a few extra cents and have someone pump my gas, than pay a few extra cents and hand it out as a welfare check.

You're too lazy to wash your car once every couple weeks, but you're going to wipe the dust off every evening? You're just going to create the same hard dirt line 2 inches further up the windshield.

I'd rather them make your lights turn on when the wipers are activated.

I would prefer wiper blades that adjust their tempo to my level of acceleration/deceleration.

Lift the MF'ers up and wipe em off from time to time with a wet cloth. Twenty seconds is all it takes.

They still have a full service gas station here in my town. Gas is over $4 a gallon, but they check your oil, tires and clean windshield.

And yes, gas was .23 a gallon when I started driving.

That must not be required at every station in NJ. I filled up a rental at a self-service station in Newark prior to driving to the airport. I would have preferred to see the full-service, especially with the company paying.

Hello. This. Do you ever wash your vehicle? My windshield looks brand new --always.

How about you just turn them on then off real quick before you turn the car off?
