I read and write well and have always had a decent vocabulary and the ability to spell words correctly without looking them up. I am an old guy so I have been writing long before computers existed and I rarely looked words up in the dictionary. Now that I have become accustomed to utilizing spell check and the dictionary online I find myself looking up words that I know I have spelled correctly and I have no idea why I do it. It is almost as if the emergence of these failsafe applications have made my doubt myself without cause. Do any of you old guys find yourself in the same boat?

I wrote my instead of me in my OP bragging about my grammar usage. At least I stand by my standard of not editing posts even when they make me look foolish.

I usually post and then edit after I proof read it. I bet 1/2 of my posts on here are edited.

Are you trying to provide an example of irony for someone?

Eta: should have read the whole thread before posting
