My wife loves this show. Is this something I should probably "watch with her"? From what shes described of it, it does seem like an interesting storyline.

I respectfully disagree. Ginny is a smoke show (I have always preferred brunettes).
As for the episode, a good set up. The way the last season ended, they had to draw back from where they seemed to be going.
Typical in that they had a good mix of drama and comedy. The flash backs were a little confusing, but it was a neat way to jump the story ahead some and still fill in the gaps.
Was surprised at the scene with his mom. Thought that would have come later in the season.
Glad to see they are going to have Dr. Alton more this season. His character is hilarious. Also, Masters' new workplace looks like it will have some interesting story possibilities (especially his new boss).

The Barton Scully stuff last night broke my heart. 
What a performance by Bridges and Janney.
I loved how they edited the story to show that Masters and Johnson are still living a total lie even after his rain confession.

They are both likely getting Emmys this year.
Yeah, the wo of them terrified to admit to the other that they actually might love each other is just sad. However, he would absolutely suck as a stepfather.

That seems to be the case based upon some of the allusions Ethan made last season (as well as Bill's reactions [facial and physical]).

Bill Masters is one of the most unlikable characters I have ever seen. If this is how he really was, I don't understand how anybody wanted to be around him. He is a POS. I am trying to think of one redeeming quality about him as shown in the show.
But the show is really good, great writing and acting. The scene with Bridges last night was fantastic. And of course, Lizzy being naked is a bonus

He's definitely become that, but he was somewhat sympathetic last season. Some of his dickiness could be explained by his singular drive (the study). Bear in mind that last season he did do some rather noble things (e.g., the "help" he gave to the new immigrant wife to protect her, and her "future" kids, from her husband; the black patient).
His behavior in S2:1 was repulsive, but then his life had completely turned to shite, so that may be an explanation. I expect he will soften as the season goes on, but not by a lot.

Just watched the first episode. Good setup for the rest of the season. I think I read at some point during the season they are going to jump ahead a few years. The stuff between Janey and Bridges was so good. Emmy worthy stuff. Janey will probably win one next month.

Episode 2 last night.
Another strong effort. Bill's first day at the new hospital was quite a doozy.
Home life almost as effed up. The dynamic between he and his wife is great.
I'm guessing Alton's going to make a play for Lizzy (especially since Bill's not around).
One of the best things about this show (to me) is the humor.
