He will either be great or terrible in the role. It will be awesome to watch either way.

with the Walken casting it's already better than the Sound of Music and Bell could've been great as Peter

Why does it seem to be a requirement that Peter be played by a woman in all musical adaptations?

Can they not find a younger guy and rearrange the music to fit his voice?

He's always great on SNL. He is getting pretty old, though. I'm worried that he can't pull this live show off.

I love Walken but his acting style seems a bit miscast for Hook.

For some reason, Peter has always been played by a woman in play/live action musicals.

Or, and I know this is crazy, they could cast an actual young boy to play the role of a young boy.

Also, is Walken going to sing? That's going to be as cringe worthy as Carrie Underwood acting in Sound if Music

Am I really reading that right? Kristen Bell from Frozen, Veronica Mars, and forgetting Sarah Marshall. I was going to complain about Walken being Hook, but dear god, I know they used to do this in old time plays, but dear god.

You know Kristen Bell used to be a Broadway actress, right?

I'm not saying Bell is a bad actress at all. She's obviously talented, but I'd rather them cast a young actor than a 30 year old actress. And I also think Walken is heavily miscast as Hook as well. Maybe Hoffman just perfected it to me. Walken is clearly a good actor as well, I just can't see him as Hook.

Keeping in line with Past Peter Pan. Duncan was 33 when she played Pan.

So not only do they have woman play Pan, they have older women playing him.
