We used to get a top prospect every year or so from Hargrave...I don't remember getting anyone from there over the past few years and am wondering why?....

The pipeline dried up and moved to Cass Tech.

They don't have the talent they once did. The NCAA implemented rules that essentially neutered the school. Kids used to go there to raise their GPA/ACT without having to start their clock. You pretty much had unlimited time to do that. Now you only have so much time (I think it would be like December at the latest) to raise your GPA. Don't know the exact wording of the rules, but it's something to this effect. So they don't get as many studs. You can search on rivals by year to get an idea of the effect.

Hargrave

Because it is only one school that all 100+ NCAA teams want a prospect from. One school cannot supply talent for all 5 BCS conference teams. Sometimes you win, others you don't.

Suppose it is like asking, why don't we get guys from Dallas Skyline HS anymore.....as opposed to asking why we don't get guys from Dallas.

It's not like asking that at all. The answer is already in the thread. NCAA regs neutered the program. It affected them to the degree that they don't sponsor a post grad program at all any more.

The regulations that hurt them the most had more to do with who they could play than who could play for them though.

I didn't bother to look it up, but from my understanding they no longer have a post grad football program.

LSU seemed to have been unofficially placing a few of those guys there as well as a few other spots. I don't doubt that new regs have had an effect but it looks more like we just don't look for JUCO kids any more. I can only remember one JUCO kid since Mett signed when we used to pull one or more every year before that.

We have two juco tes and two juco ols, a juco wr on our roster now. That's not counting the walk on juco qb.

Keiland (2006), ego (2010), and Avery Peterson (2013) all spent time there.

If you focus on the "or so" instead of "every year" of the or statement, then yes.
