TD needs a travel board

I think it would be awesome to have a board for travelling/vacation. Seems as if everyday someone post a question about an upcoming trip. Would be cool to have a spot to check out and hear about others experiences.

Travel threads are posted here for one reason. To brag about where you are or where you have been, and show this by your "intelligence" or opinion on said destination.

I'm not sure about that 100%. Of course those big sites have every place you could think of and offer some good descriptions, etc, but with a smaller board like this I think it works out pretty good when you get to know people who have good opinions and think kind of like you on different subjects.
It's easy most of the time to spot the dumbasses here, not so easy on a huge has travel site.

They have rankings for everything. Seriously, you'd rather trust some dude here who went on a carnival cruise to Jamaica on planning a honeymoon or something? It's a bad idea.

I see alot of people on here that constantly make fun of those that go on shitty carnival cruises and book Sandal and other all inclusive resorts all of the time.
It kind of works out like that.
But I agree that this site could never take the place of a place like TL or TA.

I would honestly find a travel board to be interesting...however, I am not sure there would be enough traffic on it to keep it active...

No. But, when you're ignorant on a topic you come here first to gain a little knowledge about this or that, then move toeards a more specific website/forum that focuses more on that topic.
Rather than someone who knows nothing about saving for retirement going to a forum specifically designed for investments and such, they can go to the money board first and get some ground work. Then go and dig deeper and be more specific.
