All of these movies would of probably been bad with a few exceptions but I bet they would all at least gross about 100 million more then their budgets. Im convinced sequels and prequels are just money grabs. Its rare but every once in a while you will get a T2.

Think it is standard hollywood to write treatments for sequels to blockbusters. There are probably hundreds of these floating around the studio files

Me too. I actually love Dune the movie. Mainly because I did not read the books until after I saw the movie.
Heck, I initially really liked the Sci-Fi channel version of Dune, Dune Messiah and Children of Dune but on rewatch they really are mediocre at best and downright turrible in spots.
Would love to see the later books just for the ramping up of the weirdness.

Surprisingly, not something that usually come up at parties.
I think the first BTTF was excellent, but the sequels should have been left on the cutting room floor.
