Chelsea Supporters:

I have always enjoyed watching soccer without allegiance and have gotten hooked on soccer during the World Cup. I've wanted to pick a team to follow in the EPL for the past couple of years.

I have chosen Chelsea based on them not being a team always at risk of demotion, but also not a team coming right off a league title. Also, I wanted to pick a team in a place I could attend a match for while vacationing (London). Oh, and when I read they had a controversial coach in Mourinho, they sounded like a slam dunk to support.

Learn me your ways, Blues fans.

Welcome. Good choice. Just pay careful attention over the next month and you'll learn about the players/team, transfer rumors and catch preseason action before the season starts next month. KTBFFH.

Thanks, really looking forward to following EPL this year.

What are some good sites to visit for Chelsea news and history?

Also, are there ways to watch games in the US other than illegal streams? Perhaps an EPL season pass type subscription?

Here's a few starter tips.

Hate Man U

There's a decently priced hotel (the Millennium & Copthorne) inside the stadium in chelsea (Stamford bridge). I go to games about twice a year.

Games will generally be on 7-11am Saturdays and Sundays so be prepared to wake up and watch.

Hate Liverpool and Tottenam

Hate man city

Be prepared for fans of lesser teams to accuse you of bandwagoning regardless of when you became a fan, and why.

Jose Mourihno is the special one and he is fairly controversial. He is hated by other clubs and adored by us.

Hazard will be one of our most influential players this season. I truly believe he will come into his own with a good striker to play off up top.

Hate arsenal.

Beware of Bho he likes this guy named Marko Marin and its weird

Looking forward to watching games before or during LSU and Saints games during football season and love the length of the season.

Who should I hate most? Man U? I love to hate, so the variety is no issue.

Diego Costa deal official

quote:

Chelsea Football Club is delighted to announce Diego Costa has today completed his transfer from Atletico Madrid by signing a five-year contract.

He will join up with the first team for our pre-season European training camp next week.

Since becoming a first-choice selection at Atletico, Costa has been one of the most consistent strikers in European football, with his goals and performances over the course of 2013/14 propelling his former club to a first La Liga title in 18 years and a place in the Champions League final.

Powerful and direct, the 25-year-old built a strong reputation in Spain as a fine finisher, particularly in one-on-one situations, and is capable of scoring goals with both his left and right foot while his physical nature also makes him a real threat in the air. His favoured position is as the central striker, with his ability to run in behind opposition defenders making him difficult to pick up.

Costa said: ‘I am very happy to sign for Chelsea. Everybody knows it is a big club in a very competitive league, and I am very excited to get started in England with a fantastic coach and team-mates. Having played against Chelsea last season I know the high quality of the squad I am joining.

‘I would like to thank everybody at Atletico who made me into the player I am, it was an incredible time for me, but now I am starting a new adventure and I hope to win many trophies with Chelsea.’

Demba Ba has also been sold to Besiktas for 8mil.

That leaves us with Costa, Torres, and Lukaku. I imagine another forward joins this summer or Jose convinces Romelu he's still 21 and to get an attitude adjustment.

Hopefully we stick with this and make them fight for their place. Won't be hard beating out Torres but at least it wouldn't be giving Lukaku regular playing time without proving it in training. And if there is injury we aren't totally screwed.

Man U are hated like the Yankees. They're always good though.

I personally hate Man U the most, but I know back in the day totti was very violent. I've heard some really intense stories about the hooligan brawls between chelsea and Tottenham. More recently though, the 4 main teams are Manchester City, Manchester United, chelsea, and arsenal. Chelsea has by far the best looking uniforms.

Based on what I've read, Costa seems like a great addition.

Lukaku looked great against the US in the WC, is he expected to have significant playing time for Chelsea this year?

to be fair, he came in and feasted off an exhausted back line.

most doubt he'll even be on the roster. Costa is going to be first choice, obviously, but unless another striker is brought in, lukaku would seemingly have lots of opportunities to play. it just doesnt sound like he wants to be on a team where he isnt the featured guy up top.

Lukaku is a big talent. However, he has a pretty big ego and acts entitled. He is the type of guy to score a tap in and have a go at Chelsea's first choice striker, Mourinho, Abramovich, Messi, Ronaldo and Obama. I'm not hating on him by any means, but his ego and Mourinho's ego clash.
