I see them ranked consistently in the top 5 this year. Am I the only one that doesn't believe they will be that good this year?

Sure they'll be decent, but their wins against bama and georgia were pretty lucky. Not taking anything away from them, but had the opposing coaches have managed the game correctly in the end, they would have beaten auburn, and auburn would have finished the regular season.

Their defense wasn't that good. They allowed 7 yards/play last year.
Their turnover margin was 0. Nothing spectactular.
Their rushing defense was awful.
Their redzone defense was middle of the pack (51st in the country)
Marshall is not a good quarterback.

Sure they are returning starters, i just don't see them being dominate. I think they are very overrated this year.

And call me a homer, but them having a 73% chance of beating this year is laughable, IMO.

Probably be pretty good...but they won't repeat last year by a long shot. Chavis has their number.

WILL LOSE TO BAMA
I put that in all caps because it will happen. Saban rarely loses in rematches after a loss and it in Tuscaloosa.

I think we beat them but that is a toss up.

They may win the rest but if someone solves their unstoppable offense they will lose. Auburn really hasn't had a good defense since the last part of the last decade.

Top 5 isn't overrated
National champs is

Add Miss State and aTm as well. They could have easily lost five games in the regular season last year.

I do think their defense is improved this year. Despite being in the shitter for a couple of years their recruiting was still pretty good. Nuetralize Nick Marshall and they are toast...

I see them losing 3-4 games. Potential losses: Alabama, LSU, South Carolina, Georgia, Texas A&M. They have a pretty tough conference schedule this year.

They just have to make him throw the ball. Keep him from scrambling and stop the run and you beat Auburn.

With that schedule I rephrase top 5 is overrated.

They have a great oline and great offensive scheme but outside of that I don't think they are good.

i think they caught fire at the end of the year and got one huge lucky bounce to beat UGA and that propelled them to the bama win.

They run a scheme that is very hard to spot. It wears you down to where you make mistakes or just get flat out too wired to cover the field edge to edge.

Yes i believe they are overrated...but they are a good football team that could potentially beat us since we play them away...They won 2 or 3 games on last second plays and still almost won the NC game...so yea the way they played and their stats they looked like a middle of the pack SEC Team...Wins and loses...well you seen the outcome...in saying that and them almost winning the NC Game..whats that say for the rest of the leagues in the NCAA...i do believe they will be a tad better this year at postions(i dont know what postions they are losing) but wont have the luck fall the way it did last year...so there record this year could be a 3 or 4 lose team...for sure 2 lose

I think theyre pretty good.

Quille Williams and Sammie Coates is a really good WR duo.
They have two super fast backs that should cover up the loss of Tre Mason.
Oline is very good IMO, not as good as LSU, but real solid for their system.
Marshall is an awesome running threat and should improve in the passing game this year.
Defense will be average for the league IMO.

Overall, I dont think they are overrated. The polls show that them and Bama are pretty much neck and neck.

That's what i find hard to believe. I don't put them anywhere near Bama. Like another poster said, Saban will adjust. The key to stopping Auburn is stopping the run. If your DE's are smart and don't go flying towards the QB, and your LB's take good pursuit angles and use their head, then you can man to man their receivers all day. Marshall just won't make the plays to get the ball to them.

Ok lets compare them to LSU. Is Jennings a better qb?

Yet still made it to the NC game.[yes with a lot of luck].But every team has to have the ball bounce the right way at times to get to the NC game.

They weren't really dominant last year. just real good at the right time.

Why are you comparing them to LSU? I'm talking about Auburn compared to their schedule. And i've already stated i picked LSU because mostly i'm a homer, and i believe Chavis to be able to stop Auburn again.

Which is why i don't see it happening 2 years in a row.

Exactly why i don't see them as finishing the way they did last year.

#1- I think you are oversimplifying the gameplan big time. Everyone knew the barn was going to run zone all year last year. At the end of the year, hardly anyone could stop it.

#2- Their receivers will be really good this year. Marshall will improve in the passing game.

Im not saying auburn is the 72 dolphins, but they have a pretty solid roster.

Well obviously, i'm not a football coach. This is my perception as a guy that likes to watch football, played some in high school, and has played the video game many times.

Three or four losses, IMO. Not bad in the SEC, overrated, maybe.

I agree here. But you could say LSU is overated as well. I am a big LSU fan but not a homer.

They may be a tad overated. But ya never know. I think all teams are overated at the start of the season though.

They are the aTm of 2014. Them (and OU as well) are getting tons of cred for beating Alabama last year.

When you consider in a span of 7 weeks they play:
South Carolina
@ Ole Miss
Texas aTm
@ Georgia
Samford (whatever)
Bama

Not to mention they host LSU the week before they travel to Miss State.

No way they finish in the top 5 this year.

Don't twist it..call it for what it is. They had two once in 20 year plays in back to back weeks.

Thats not a lucky bounce or a fortunate call, it's just short of miraculous.

They've got

Arkansas
San Jose State
@ Kansas State
Louisiana Tech
LSU
@ Mississippi State
South Carolina
@ Ole Miss
Texas A&M
@ Georgia
Samford
@ Alabama

I see a 10-2 season.
