Hosting a yardsale for 7am. I have people coming by/knocking on my door at 4:30 am.

On a sidenote, the kids are selling lemonade and cookies.

Why would you have a yard sale on a Friday?

You can meet some strange mfckers by having a yard/garage sale.
Lots of lonely arse old people too who just want to get out and visit.

I would. Keep it low key and not have a ton of people. Some stuff will never sell anyway. And you don't waste a sat or sun.

It's awful here in FL. The retirees have watched one too many episodes of "American Pickers" and show up hours beforehand thinking they are going to strike it rich off your trash. So obnoxious...

Sounds like you've put some serious thought into this

can't you just put a sign up that says it doesn't start until 7 am?

If someone is challenged enough to think its acceptable to knock on a door at 4am then a sign likely wouldn't stop them

Yard Sale
We had a yard sale about 3 weeks ago. Our garage & spare bedroom was full of all kind of crap. Had it on a Thursday, Friday & Saturday. It was a 3 family yard sale and combined everyone made about $1800. We made +/- $1100 ourselves. I was surprised b/c me made the most on Thursday (+/- $500) and the least on Saturday (+/- $200). Our goal was $500 so we were quite happy

ETA: The garage sale started @ 7 AM each day. On Thursday we had people stopping by @ 5:30 AM before we could even put our signs out

Doesn't matter.
I have one sale only and will never have another.
I had put a tarp up to kind of block my driveway so I could set up in the morning to be ready for 7:30. at 6, some old guy comes peaking through the tarp and moves it so he could walk back. He claimed he couldn't read in the paper what time the sale started. He damn sure didn't have a problem reading the address.

Also had an old lady come down the street in her moo moo. My grandpa was getting rid of his crap(because he was bored too) so he had a bunch of old plastic flowers he was selling. This old lady bought all of the flowers and then proceeded to tell us the story of her grown son who lived with her who died in his room. She now fills his room with fake flowers. Woman talked about this shite for 15 minutes.

not bad. I would imagine the reason you made more on Thursday is because all the decent stuff was gone after that day right?
