Yeah, was definitely worth waking up to watch for sure... Btw, what do you think our starting lineup will look like on Wednesday? I think we rest a lot of our big names, hope it's not a mistake

I haven't seen who we play, been a hectic few weeks... Regardless, I think we can expect to see more of Lovren. Also, we may take the chance to play Sterling like we were earlier in the season with Lallana and Coutinho behind him.
Unlike earlier this year, Rodgers has a ton of options really.
Sakho and Gerrard both sat today, correct? I remember as of Friday ish that they were on a 2 day time table, so today was a toss up.

We play Burnley Wed, then Blackburn in the FA Cup next weekend.

Just finished watching. Awesome result. The midfield looked great, Lovren didn't look as terrible as he has in the past, and te two goals were world class. We also had some really good link up play, especially on Lallana's two disallowed goals. Wish Everton could help us out with a win/draw.
After this week I believe we are down to one game a week for the rest of the season. Plus we'll be getting Lucas and Sakho back. I'll be curious how Brendan fits Gerrard back in when he returns.

It's a good problem to have, I honestly can't pick a starting 11 that doesn't leave out a player that I don't want left out assuming everyone is healthy

Great win today. 3 points were huge.
By far Allen's best game in the new formation. He seems to finally be getting it after two decent performances leading up to this. He picked a few passes from Yaya to Silva, and was generally a big nuisance. He made lots of safe passes when they pressed and also a few really nice passes to bypass their midfield.
City made the mistake of thinking a 2 man central midfield can do a good job against our 4 man. So much space behind Fernandino and Yaya and Cou and Lallana really exploited it well. In fact, I feel cheated that we did not score more than 2. Sturridge should have scored his (unlucky that his first touch took him towards the end line rather than towards the center). Sterling had on he should have scored. Lallana had some great moments.
Lovren played well on defense - except for a handful of moments against Kun. He did have some bad passes, but otherwise, is finally settling in. I also think he does a great job of clearing crosses coming in from that side.
Cou is definitely becoming the magician. He's capable of a 15 goal and 15 assist type year in the future, and is starting to show it.
I mean, we gave up ONE shot on target from City. Can you believe that? After a tiring Thursday game that went to extra minutes? Gutty performance by our defense and midfield.
I hated seeing our bench. 4 strikers. 2 academy guys, and Kolo. Johnson has a knock. Ibe must too? What about Manquillo? Is Flanagan near returning? I just don't understand how we don't have a single other midfield or outside player that could have been on the bench? But to take an undermanned tired squad and beat City is massive.

Great match today! Really fun to watch.

Great fricking match. My next jersey will be Coutinho.

Ibe has played ton of minutes lately, and has been dynamite during every second of that stretch. He deserved a rest for sure. And I agree with the Manquillo comment... He has played pretty decently pushing forward in his limited minutes lately.

I'm on cloud nine today boys! I can't stop watching those goals from Hendo and Cou. Brilliant stuff.

fricking floating. Everyone was brilliant. Dejan's best game in a red shirt. Joe Allen was wonderful. What a game.

It's hard to focus at work today because I'm still fired up from this morning, that game was worth every second of waking up at 6:00am with a cold
Now we just have to keep going

Before I began watching soccer I would have said you guys are too into it, and needed to wake up. Now here I am on the same page thinking about how terrible the football off-season is and how I will never have that feeling again.

Coutinho, to steal a telejourno cliche, is a bundle of joy to watch right now

Pretty sure I woke up my neighbor this morning cheering for Cou's goal, heard their front door open a few seconds later, and no I don't care at all

Just finished the game, and yeah, we are playing sooooooo much better... apart from being pretty piss poor with the ball at our feet right in front of the goal (Sterling, i'm looking at you), we looked pretty good....
they had their chances and we got a little luck from the cross bar, but all in all, we looked fantastic... both of the goals were laser shots that looked great...
