I am going to be studying for these two exams in the upcoming weeks. Anyone have any experience with them and care to share?

you have to study. I did not read the books just took practice tests, keep doing that until you are passing them consistently. take the 66 as close to the 7 as possible there is some overlap.

Series 7 for Dummies was actually pretty good. The 66 was harder for me.

66 is harder, even though I got the same score on it as I did the 7. I didn't know if I made a 40 or a 90 on the 66 when I hit submit

Nothing on the 7 is conceptually difficult, there's just a lot to memorize. Take your time and make sure you are consistently passing the practice exams before you go.

I actually have to take the continuing education test for the 7 next week. Anyone have experience with that? This is my first time going.

What is it that makes the 66 that much harder?

it's dumb, a bunch of simulations on compliance/rules/regs takes a long time bc you can't skip anything and you have to go through every simulation.

The CE for the 7 is a joke and waste of time. It's just scenarios of what should he/she have done differently.

The 66 is more difficult because it's written by lawyers and more legal, ethical stuff. So when reading it, you feel the answers could be either or. It's a lot like watching paint dry, you're never just quite sure.

Take as many practice tests as you can. When I took it 15 years ago the practice tests were a bitch...and I was scoring consistently in the low 60s. But, I scored an 89 on the exam. My boss said I study too much cause all I needed was 70.

I second taking the 66 soon after the 7. As people have said the practice tests are key to access. If you tried to memorize all the information it would take several months. I used Kaplan for both and they were great.

I used Kaplan as well and had no issues. Memorize the options matrix and learn how to use T-charts...
