How is this possible? Is the CPM fault for not doing more straight steals? Or just shitty catchers in the Cod?

The stolen bases is what gets me, they can get from 1st to 3rd faster than anyone but can't steal 2nd to get into scoring position to save their lives to stay out of DP.
The averages are not a surprise because if you talk to most college players they would rather use wood bats over the aluminum they swing now.

Here is the thing though, are they actually caught stealing? Or does CPM not actually straight steal them? Seems like we are more of a hit and run type of team

Two fall practices ago Mainieri allowed the players to use whatever bat they wanted to use and then vote on it. The team overwhelmingly voted for the non-wood bats.
