True or False: Everything a player does is to prepare him for the World Cup.

I'd say true. Focus on the big picture here though.
Certainly every national team game you play is to get better for the World Cup. Even when you're with your club, you're trying to impress the national team coach in addition to your club's success and keeping your job.
Then on the other hand you have a guy like Carlos Vela who has kind of distanced himself from the Mexican team.
To be clear, players who are retired from their national team are not included in this conversation.

Apparently some Man United players didn't care for playing for England, let alone World Cup.

I would say true, but for the fact that there have been a lot of great players that are from countries that have no chance of winning, much less qualifying.
Although now days it's hard to find someone that is only eligible for only one country.

False. Champions league final. But it should be the World Cup. And to that I say :

False, for most of them it's to make $$$$

False. Everything a player does is to provide for himself and his family (i.e., money).

False.....It's all about the dollar bills IMO...and in the vast majority of the soccer world I think that equates to Champions League success.

I figured money would be a popular answer but I was talking mainly about the playing side of the game. But I'm sure there are some guys out there who just did it for the money so it's a valid argument.
