One player cannot do it by himself - remember Kevin Durant couldn't do it

My body is ready.

I told my boss I had to be back in BR full time by November 2015 just so I don't miss a thing that year.

it depends on the rest of the team

Simmons will likely be 1 and done... which means we need to have a really strong team around him

Even Lebron alone can not win a title as Cavalier. We need more talented guys and excellent coaching.

Kentucky pulls in all worlds and can't do it yearly.

Good lord - take a deep breath. The kid hasn't played one single second of college ball yet. I've seen too many "can't miss" prospects who do, indeed, miss.

Let's just see what he can do and what other pieces we have on the team.

By the way, we couldn't even win the conference with Shaq, Chris Jackson, Stanley Roberts, Vernell Singleton, and other good role players back in 1990, so thinking national championship based on one player who hasn't stepped on a college court yet is a bit of a stretch.

I'd sure hope so. But that's some wishful thinking. Let's make the tourney this year and see what happens from there

Guys, many "can't miss" prospects go down in flames but they are all NBA type physical specimens who need to improve their game.

Simmons game is ready. He's no Tyrus Thomas .
or Anthony Randolph cause people 'projected' that they could play the 3 in the NBA. They can't.

Simmons is ready.

Now this doesn't mean we win the championship, but we will have our best team since stanley, shaq, and CJ were here.

In fact we will have a better team than each of our final four teams except for 81 IMO.

coming out of the SEC our seeding should be high. I see it happening

We need other players besides him.

Like for instance Martin and/or Mickey sticking around.

I can't wait until the season starts. When LSU loses a few games in the SEC, the same posters who are posting that LSU has a team that rivals the ones that Shaq and company were on will be the ones calling for the firing of the head coach. Some people cannot accept that LSU isn't perfect. I remember the posts calling for the firing of the baseball coach when LSU didn't make it out of the regionals.

If Shaq and Chris Jackson couldn't, I doubt Ben Simmons can.

LSU has had some of the very best players in the history of college basketball. A few years ago, some national publication listed the top 50 players in the history of the NCAA. LSU had 3, Bob Petitt, Pistol Pete and Shaquille. I doubt Ben Simmons is better. He certainly will not be better than Pistol Pete. What did Pete avg...44 pts per game? There's a lot more to it than 1 player.

Basketball is too fickle a game to ever predict a championship. Simmons puts us in the discussion, that's all we can ask from him.

To be fair, it would be our first in the NCAA tournament era. One player doesn't make a championship team, though. Anything can happen in March Madness, but we have to make it there first. One step at a time.

Simmons will make more of a splash in one year than Fournette will in one year
