Do you think book authors ever fap to their own characters?

For example, George R. R. Martin. While writing Game of Thrones story he has to have some type of imagery for what each character looks like, as does anyone reading a book. But for someone that has themselves so wrapped up in a story line, do you think an author can be aroused by one of their own characters?
Obviously it is different now that the show is out people have a clear image of what the characters look like.
I guess the overall question is, can you successfully fap to imaginary people?

I absolutely believe they do, especially GRRM. You can have a pretty clear picture in your mind of what a fictional character looks like. Heck, there was a movie not too long ago about an author who writes a novel character who is his dream woman (I don't remember if they showed him whacking it to her, but I'm sure he did), and she suddenly shows up as a real person. Then, whatever he writes about her becomes true. He then gets a God complex about it and turns into an evil crazy person, but still gets the girl in the end. Movie sucks.

I was writing a short story for college a few years back and just couldn't fight the urge to jerk off to a character that I made. It was a black woman with one leg and worked at an Auto Zone to help with child support. Her determination was arousing

Yeah I think GRRM has some issues. Daenerys I think was 13 in the first books.
Show and books are badass though.

What's the difference between fapping to an "imaginary" person versus a "real" one?
ETA: I say this thinking of porn stars, who are themselves (largely) "characters" and therefore imaginary in a sense. And most of the populace has as much chance of a "real" sexual encounter with one of them as they do a character from a story. (Aside from the ones that tour or perform near you).
