I tried searching for this topic and nothing came up, so apologies in advance if it has already been discussed here.

In my league, we're picking numbers out of a hat for draft selection this season. Number 1 picks his spot first, number 2 then picks his spot; and so on so forth. I've been doing a few mocks trying to find the spot that I think will be best. Here's my thought process so far:

My ideal spot is probably number 3. Reason being is that I would take McCoy, Charles, or AP with my #1 hands down. Wouldn't care which one as long as I had one of them. (After those three there's a big drop off in the RB's, imo). Then on the turn in round 2, I would be in position to take either the last RB (IMO) who is in the top-2nd tier of the group OR take a top tier WR. On the flip side, I've done some mocks where I pick around the 7-9 spot, draft a top tier WR there, and sometimes wind up with a better overall team than I do when I pick in the 2-4 range.

If you had your choice this year, in a draft where the RB pool seems to be so shallow and WR pool seems to be pretty deep, where would you like to pick? Is there any sense in choosing to draft later in round 1, or is that just over/out-thinking yourself?

I think a couple RBs ranked outside of the top 5-6 are gonna have huge seasons so I wouldn't mind picking at the end of Rd1. If I think I can grab the ones I want in Rd 2 I'll take a Manning or a WR in Rd 1.

actually Forte is in the tier with the other 3. Forte actually scored 57 more points (standard) it was higher in PPR i'm sure.

It's also preferable imo to pick close to the beginning or end of rounds because you have 2 picks so close to each other that you can look at the rosters of the teams whose pick(s) are sandwiched between yours and use that to your advantage when deciding who to pick.

Is AP without question better than Forte in PPR? Im 3rd in Pels Talk and surprisingly considering Forte.
