Right now I've got mine under a tarp behind the shed. PITA. Going to be building something similar that's covered to keep the yak out of the sun and storing all my accessories. I hate having a carport and not a garage.

Nice job! Looks a little better than mine!

I built this out of scrap wood and some 2" straps that my work was getting rid of.

Looks pretty cool.

What about yak wall cradles that are screwed into wall studs and allows you to hang it flat to the wall, thus being out of the open floor space in a garage?

Dont have the garage space some of you guys do. Got these things that attach to studs in the wall. Place kayak in. Has smaller hooks in bottom to hold paddle and anchor stake

I have wall straps. Cheap, easy and gets it out the way.

At 18 feet, my yak was too long to fit anywhere in the garage easily. I wanted to keep it put of the sun and I knew that tarps would deteriorate and also scratch the surface.

Built this hinged cover. You grab the metal pole and lift and it folds up and then use 2 ropes to hold it up. Works well and was fun to build. It's tucked around the back corner of the house so it's out of sight

Edit: my other three yaks didn't get this treatment. They're on J hooks on the backside of my fence under very deteriorated tarps....

When I had one it was just on that PVC frame hanging on the side. I don't have the wall space to hang it on the side. And we're in a rental house right now so when my old house sells and we finally move this will be going in the storage shed/barn
