What's the draw for this show?

Comparable to any other TV shows?

Best comedy duo since Sanford and Son.

I'd say the most comparable show is Chuck in that the format is a weekly action/crime procedural, but the comical interaction of the quirky characters is what makes the show, not the main story arc or catching the bad guy of the week.

You have two hilarious, goofy, pop-culture-spouting unprofessional Private Eyes making wisecracks and having hilarious banter with random side characters, witnesses, and suspects all while catching a murderer, usually doing so while doing a send up to a pop culture item, certain TV show/movie or genre (ex: slasher movies, zombies, the West Wing, Twin Peaks, American Idol, ect)

This. Also, JD + Turk became increasingly gay as the series went on. It went from a funny bromance in the beginning to an almost blatantly homosexual relationship by the last season.

gotta love Lassiter. Omundson plays a great straight man to Shawn and Gus' antics. probably top 10 when the series ends, right up there with Uncle Phil and Al Borland.

If you don't like Psych and Chuck, you have no soul. Two of the most fun shows ever made.
