How am I not playing by the rules? I really think it would be cool if Johnny Marr (The Smiths) played with Modest Mouse. Two indie rock legends crossing paths, would be epic

I heard he can no longer play. Saw him with Genesis way back, and while he had taken over the front man role, I remember him getting behind a second drum set and playing along with the black dude. Chester Thompson, that's who it was.

i know i'm avoiding the question, but do any of the old-timers here remember an EP called 'star fleet project'? it had brian may & eddie van halen playing together, with alan gratzer on drums, phil chen on bass, and fred mandell on keys. they were basically just jamming & fricking around for a few songs, nothing really ambitious....anyway, i would've liked to have heard a "proper" album by this lineup, 'cuz i'm sure it would've been interesting.

also, rick wakeman & trevor rabin have been trying to get together for years, but something always seems to come up & push things on the backburner. in 2011, they both insisted the project was still imminent, but nothing has panned out yet. having seen the two of them play together onstage alone during yes' 'union' tour, that has potential to be a killer album. while i prefer steve howe on yes' albums, rabin is definitely more a "complete" musician & the possibilities are endless doing something with wakeman. time's running out 'tho....
