Interesting idea: "Why China Will Reclaim Siberia"

Siberia – the Asian part of Russia, east of the Ural Mountains – is immense. It takes up three-quarters of Russia's land mass, the equivalent of the entire U.S. and India put together. It's hard to imagine such a vast area changing hands. But like love, a border is real only if both sides believe in it. And on both sides of the Sino-Russian border, that belief is wavering.
The 1.35 billion Chinese people south of the border outnumber Russia's 144 million almost 10 to 1. The discrepancy is even starker for Siberia on its own, home to barely 38 million people, and especially the border area, where only 6 million Russians face over 90 million Chinese. With intermarriage, trade and investment across that border, Siberians have realized that, for better or for worse, Beijing is a lot closer than Moscow.

Let the Siberians put it to a vote, like in the Ukraine....

So, Russia may have to face it's own tactics? This could be interesting.

So now it's time for Putin to draw a Red line in the snow?

I say give it back to the Mongols.

This is a highly ignorant article.
First, the border areas are barely populated with a few exceptions. I guess if you throw in some interior Chinese cities like Harbin, you may get those numbers.
Second, Chinese don't want to go to Siberia and those that do hate it, and are treated poorly by the Russians.
Third, Russia has nukes and an Army that will not give this up.

Ain't that the truth!
Think of the U.S. southern border right now.

not very likely, at best China may chip off a small part of Siberia for a very large concession of natural resources, but even that is highly unlikely.

agreed, it seems like the same wishful liberal thinking that got Obomber elected, the hopey-changey crap that ignores reality and cause and effect. Because the author seems to think the oh so deserving Asians deserve that chunk of land doesn't mean squat. There's a whole lot of land in the Yukon/Northwest territory that is uninhabited, ever wonder why?

Why the frick would anyone want Siberia. Other than a good spot for prison camps, does anyone actually live there?

It is massively rich in resources.

Need hearty colonists. America doesn't have many of these anymore.

Do you think we could get an Alaska type deal for it?
