what a beast! i cant believe the combo of speed and strength we had in the outfield back in 2009. we had him, leon landry, mikie mahtook, and iirc ryan schimpf (sp?) played some right field too.

He was just sent down to AA after hitting .199 in 53 games of AAA this season.

man if he could be just an ok hitter, he'd be unreal everywhere else

14 total bases in one game? Goodness gracious. I remember watching him run bases and it was glorious. Like an antelope in an open field frolicking aimlessly.

That tag up against UNO on the fly ball to deep second was unreal. Never seen anything like it since.

Fix that shitty elbow angle and things might start to fall into place for him...

Awesome night though.

Not sure what Mitchell's deal is. He absolutely raked in spring training with the White Sox and seemed as if he was finally turning the corner but was absolutely dreadul with is AAA team for the first 53 games, batting below .200 and with 78 SOs in 156 ABs. Then he gets demoted to AA Birmingham and in 22 games there, he's batting .315 with 7 HRs and only 23 SOs in 89 ABs. Still not the best SO/AB % but much better than he's produced throughout his minor league career. I thought once he was demoted back down this season that the chance of him ever making the majors was essentially over. He has all the natural ability in the world, but his consistency has been such a mystery. Kid was a AA all-star in 2012. Hopefully he can get his head and swing right and get back.
