Why doesn't Obama, Democrats and RINOs want secure borders?

It's plainly obvious that our border isn't secure when 12 year old's are simply strolling across our southern border and subsequently causing the current refugee problem. Obama, Democrats and RINOs want amnesty and the only thing standing in their way are sane Americans that believe we can't control the influx of illegal immigrants without a secure border.

Secure the border and they get amnesty. It's simple as that.

I realize that is a long process and highly nuanced but I believe there is a reason Obama, Democrats and RINOs don't want a secure border. Obama and the Democrats want to dole out welfare benefits ad infinitum to secure Democrat votes and RINOs are simply marionettes whose strings are being pulled by their corporate masters for cheap labor.

This is unbelievably insane the problems Obama has caused at our southern border and just for votes. He is one evil dude.

Democrats want them so they can get them hooked on entitlements and turn red states blue and purple to create a permanent electoral majority. RINO's want the cheap labor that doesn't have to comply with minimum wage laws. It's all very simple.

Heard on tv this morning that Obama is headed to Texas for a non-fundraising (WH's words, not mine) gig for the Dems. No planned trip to the border even though Perry invited him yesterday to go on a border tour with him.

This is one tragedy by the WH I guess they want to let go to waste.

Right. But it sounds so complicated in the media.

If there was some sincere path to securing the border with congressional verification I believe the left would get their amnesty they want so badly. However in their minds I believe a secure border is too much of a price to pay. They want Venezuela.

Rinos prefer to be in the minority, it gives them the best of both worlds, so they think

You can have an open borders without a welfare state, you might be able to have a welfare state without open borders, but you certainly can't have both.

If there were no government entitlement programs, I would potentially be for open borders, but as long as there are free government benefits, no way in hell.

Nothing to do with this situation.

There is tremendous irony with you libertarian open border types. Sure lets have an open border. However the real consequences of such is the growth of the state though the importation of people with a mind set and political ideology 180 degrees from any libertarians. Have fun living in the US of Venezuela.

I'm going to play stupid, well maybe not, here. What in laymen's terms is the government's definition of open borders? Would each individual allowed across be documented to keep up with their whereabouts?

Basically, if there's no government benefits like SNAP, food stamps, housing assistance, welfare, medicaid, medicare, ect then there's really only one incentive for immigrants to come here: jobs.

In my fantasy world, there would be no mandated minimum wage, meaning that immigrants wouldn't have that distinct advantage of being able to automatically under cut American workers. If there are jobs that need to be filled, immigrants could come to fill them. If there's no opportunities, they would leave. It's very simple.

What complicates it is having a welfare state and minimum wage laws which gives them incentives to come and stay, gives them a huge competitive advantage at finding work over legal immigrants and citizens, and encourages them to use resources funded by taxes that they aren't paying, straining those systems logistically and financially to the breaking point. It is simply never a sustainable system.

America was like this for a long time. They didn't have fences and border patrols back then. They needed people.

I think you could have de facto open borders if all land was held privately.
