Daily Caller - Sen. Grassley targeted by IRS due to blocked nomination

The Daily Caller has an article up about that recent e-mail exchange where Lois Lerner tried to have Sen. Charles Grassley audited.
They have dug into the situation and found out that Grassley ended up on the White House and IRS shite list in early 2010 after blocking the White House from appointing political hack Nina Smith to a position at DOJ which coordinates with the IRS about tax prosecutions.
Grassley's block of the nomination was done so that a career IRS employee, vs a political appointee, would get the job, with his reasoning being that Smith didn't know taxes and it wasn't a learn-on-the-job environment.
Given that the block took place in early 2010, as the IRS's targeting scheme was forming, and that the position in question would have been used to push for the prosecution of various tax offenders, it isn't a huge stretch to say that Grassley's block prevented a lot of political prosecutions of anti-Obama dissidents.
I know Rex et all will dismiss this out of hand because it is the DC, but it's kind of hard to get "respectable" outlets to cover the situation when they're determined to plug their ears and scream "LALALALA" when confronted with Obama scandals.

Ah use, you right wing loons are on top of everything! The name is Mary Smith and not Nina Smith and Obama withdrew her nomination in 2010, 2 years before the email.

The title of this thread and the article it references are complete bullshite.
It's a rehash of the Grassley was targeted from a few weeks ago when Lerner was accidentally sent the invite thing, mixed with conspiracy theory bull shite regarding something that had taken place a couple years before.
