I got roped in to going fish the Eugene Island tomorrow and my hopes are not that high for this trip. THis is one of those guys at work that say, yeah they caught fish all the time down there, I;ll even pull your boat down there....."

I been down the Atchafalaya River several times but never fished passed that. I hear we are fishing rigs for specks, but is that it? anyone ever fish this area,
any success?

A few years ago when we were at your camp in cocodrie, my dad called me to go on a chartered trip to where you are talking about. I passed on the trip and they caught their trout limit at the rigs out there...thats all I got.
How's the new prop run on your boat?

at a certain time of year the trout would run at EI32. Not sure if this is the time but you would get a bite as soon as you put your line in.

51 and 74 were famous for night time fishing, but 51 is no longer there. Not sure about 74.

Been years since I've been that way.

Real far, probably too far. coco marina is much closer and much better fishing. Plus they have live bait available which is a must this time of year.

I fish down the river from MC all the time and I'm hearing the trout aren't on this end yet but good luck. Stop in Oyster Bayou for some bull reds!

We first hit a group of rigs about 8 miles from the mouth to the west. But the water was muddy. Chocolate brown. So we pointed south and rode for about 12-13 miles and the water was still nasty. Headed east and the water was a little better but not much. Then went to point LA Fleure I believe its called, and rode up a bayou behind that and the water was worse.....

Going to do some 4 of July activities tonight, then head to cocodrie Saturday/ Sunday if I get a descent report from my brother who is fishing today. The trout are still not on fire like they usually are by this time of year.
