Yeah, that was a rough miss. It's not an easy skill, but it's one that a professional should at least clang off the post at worst. That ball landed WELL into the stands. Frustrating.

I wonder if he thinks going to Cambodia was worth it now.

Like was it so awesome that it couldn't wait 12 months?

He should have passed it to Dempsey, wouldn't have mattered, cheating linseman called offsides.

We could have used Donavon, J.K. is too stubborn for his own good.

Bradley is much better with Donavon on the pitch.

Yedlin was offside. Watch the gif.. Or replay. Yedlin comes running back from the end line during the play. I don't know what he was doing. But he wasn't part of the play. So it shouldn't have mattered. It sure would have been interesting.

Never should have been cut from the team. We could have used him big time.

Did you read the post? He was off but he wasn't part of the play so it wasn't called.

That is what FIFA is saying now, but the ref always signals the goal kick, not the linesman.

If Wondo had scored it would have been offside.

Wond should have tapped a pass to Demps for a sure goal

I'm going to have to question how much soccer you've watched, or at least really paid attention to. Every time the ball goes out of play, the AR will raise his flag straight into the air then signal how play should be restarted. For a goal kick, the signal is to point with a level flag across the field even with the 6-yard box. For a corner kick, the flag is pointed at a downward angle parallel to the touchline (sideline) towards the end of the field where the corner will occur.

The confusion comes from the fact that a signal for a goal kick and free kick in the middle third of the field are the same. That makes it hard to differentiate whether or not goal kick or free kick for offsides was being called for.

To me it looked like he was saying Yedlin should have been called for offsides and that's why the flag was raised. Obviously Yedlin was off, but because he wasn't part of the play so it didn't matter and it wouldn't be called. I think we're on the same page here. I just didn't do a great job of explaining it.
