I am going tomorrow with nephew and his friend (high school aged). I have heard great things about it...I just need to know a couple of things

1) What's the low-down on best places to park?

2) How much time should I allow for the tour?

3) Delete. Apparently I need to get there way before noon. Thanks for the input.

4) I think they want to see an hour-long movie of some sort that is extra. What is this about and is it worth it?

5) In 20 words or less, what are the highlights and what are the lowlights of the experience?

Edit to add 6) Do they have food there?

Thank you in advance for your thoughtful cooperation in answering my questions.

It's an all-day thing. Go as early as possible and if you want to see everything you will be there until they close. The movie is worth it, in my opinion, narrated by Tom Hanks.. There aren't any "lowlights."

Have fun

Above all else, make absolutely sure that you... ahhh, nevermind. I'll never fit that precious information in 20 words.

It's nice place to visit, last visit I did sense a bit of political correctness in some displays involving the racist aspects of war with Japan and the plight of the black soldier. Solid museum otherwise.

been there a couple times... love it (as I'm a fan of history and esp. WWII)

if the movie you're talking about is Beyond All Boundaries... the Tom Hanks 1... it's excellent

had me believing someone was cutting onions in there

Be prepared to spend the day there. I went when it had first open end and I thought I could go through in 3 hours. I regret not having the time to devote to a proper trip.

It's nothing short of spectacular.

My family and I arrived at the museum around 10 AM and didn't leave until after 10 that evening. Our visit included the evening's dinner show.

Don't rush through it. The best part is all the video and audio "stops" by veterans and civilians from almost all the nationalities involved in the war including the Germans & Japanese.

Yes, there is a restaurant on site.

Seems to be a popular response.

What is the food situation? Do you have to leave to eat and come back...or do they have food inside?
