That's another failing of Ned Stark - he left his best advisors back at Winterfell.

Stannis doesn't take a shite without consulting Davos, Melisandre or both.

He's tough, but he's fair and he's a solid leader. He's also not going to get outmaneuvered by a psychopath like Ramsay or a sociopath like Littlefinger.
