Is there a launch there off of Bluff Road? If there is, is it worth it?

No. Better off getting someone to drop you off on side of Perkins and going from there. They'll tow you if you park at Alligator Bayou and kayak out of there.

At one time, there was a launch off HWY 74 into a canal that went all the way to Spanish Lake.
Those days are long gone.....

and for future reference, I give you the following, priceless gift:
LOSCO - LA Oil Spill Coordinators Boat Launch Locator
This info is a few years old, but still very useful.
Just search by parish or waterway, and you can find every launch spot in the area.

Bookmarked. Thanks. What happened to the launch by that old lady's house? Is it gone?

That stinks. I use to launch my rogue in there and use a trolling motor all the way to Spanish lake. Catch catch some perch every once in a while

I used to launch in Braud Bayou after school and fish back to Soanish Lake. Caught decent messes of bass and sacaulait. Also used to kill a good pile of ducks back there.

Frank Bonifay screwed that pooch when he refused to compromise with the surrounding landowners about controlling the water levels in the bayou.

It's sad. That was a beautiful swamp almost within the city limits of Baton Rouge. It made a great day to rent one of their canoes for $5 and tour those bayous.
Money won in the end....

Mitigation banks are one thing, but the drained lake is entirely on Bonifay when he inisted the gate at Bayou Manchac remain open year-round. The land owners were willing to close the gate in the fall and winter (ideal for duck hunting), and close it during the spring and summer, but this was not acceptable to Mr. Bonifay because the bulk of his swamp tours business was in the spring.

It's too bad Bonifay blocked public access from that side of the swamp. Also, that lake had become absolutely choked with duckweed and hydrilla before they allowed it to drain itself.
