I've seen that we have rumored interest in him a few weeks ago. He could be a cheaper Ryno replacement, so we can trade him and have more room for a SF. You guys thoughts??

We don't have a need for him now that we have Asik IMO

He doesn't do anything Anderson does either

I have no desire to trade Ryno, but I'd accept Blatche at around $3ish million as a Jason Smith replacement.

I'm a huge Ryno fan but it looks like either he, Gordon or Rivers has to go. Rivers nets zero. Gordon cost to send out. Ryno is the only asset that can bring in something. Blatche wouldn't be a bad option if Ryno gets shipped. My DREAM scenario would be to sign Blatche, trade Ryno for for a 1st, use 1st to trade Gordon, sign potential 1st class SF like Chandler Parsons or Gordon Haywood.

I really like the idea for all three reasons.

He was suspended from the Nets for being out of shape and generally not giving a frick. Monty/Demps won't look in his direction.

That and not much of a fit if they keep Anderson, Davis, Asik. Withey/Ajinca are fine as 4th/5th bigs. Save money for wing help

Nice fantasy NBA waiver pick up, but no thanks.

I'm not so sure about that. Monty has dealt with those types in the past, and while I shudder to think about an out of shape big coming to a food city like New Orleans, I can see Monty's style of benching guys that don't do things his way giving Blatche the structure he needs to succeed.

We still don't know what this trade is going to look like. Unless they move Gordon or Anderson, it's possible one or both of those are gone.

For sure. But I don't see them going out of their way to sign a known risk like Blatche. Not when they talk about character and culture. If you, after about a decade in the league, aren't getting your shite together with Pierce and KG in your locker room, you're probably beyond help at this point

Now maybe they move Ajinca/Withey ans need help. For a vet minimum, I think they take a flyer. Anything more for a 4th big with his red flags and I'm leery. Signing him as a 3rd big after an Anderson trade is a bad idea.

King said he had reached out to Paul Pierce, Shaun Livingston and Alan Anderson and expressed an interest in retaining them.

King was then asked if he had reached out to Blatche to voice any interest in bringing him back.

“No,” King said.

So if the Nets aren't interested in him, is it possible we're the only team that's called about him? Maybe you can get him for near the minimum.

You aren't losing a ton, either

True

Yeah, but with Asik on board, Ryno is a MUCH better fit here than Blatche.

I'd rather give Rivers away for nothing than give Ryno away for Blatche.

That's kind of telling.

Oh I agree with you, Ryno fits perfectly with Asik and I would be happy to keep him. I just submitted one of the only scenarios I would be ok with trading him. Trading Ryno could help spread out the talent and make the team deeper. For example

PG: Jrue Holiday Russ Smith Austin Rivers
SG: Tyreke Evans Anthony Morrow
SF: Chandler Parsons PJ Tucker
PF: Anthony Davis Andray Blatche
C: Omer Asik Andray Blatche

Or

PG: Jrue Holiday Russ Smith
SG: Eric Gordon Tyreke Evans
SF: Tyreke Evans PJ Tucker
PF: Anthony Davis Ryan Anderson
C: Omer Asik Jeff Withey
