Should I be ashamed?

Need OT's perspective (or frick maybe it is just therapeutic for me to type it out). I had been dating this girl for 4-5 months. Although, we were never officially exclusive - I was loyal and made her a top priority but was never overbearing or pushed the issue on if we were exclusive.
Last weekend she got a little distant and even more so this week. She blew off our plans on Friday and so when driving back from hanging out with my buddy - I did a drive by creep by her house and there was another car in her driveway at 4am.
She called me all day Saturday wanting to go to dinner and a music show. I told her other plans came up, being vague, and I would need to be the one to pass.
Fast forward to this afternoon. We're at a mutual friends BBQ. Guy pulls up in the same car that was in her driveway. I make it a point to keep busy and not to talk to her. At the end of the bbq, she comes up to me and says "well, I guess we both had lame weekends". I said well that's not what I heard from the guy over there bragging about his Friday night...
I feel a little shitty now but I wanted some potential collateral damage.

I just walked out and drove home. She's been blowing up my phones with texts. But to those of you who think I am passive aggressive, you are right. I haven't read a single one.
Although not officially exclusive, from an ego standpoint I wasn't cool with someone else tagging in at any time. So, I knew I was over her when I saw the smoking gun on Friday.
Perhaps, I should have taken the higher road and just faded away.

So you aren't exclusive, but you feel like you have the right to break all sorts of privacy issues and creep at her house?
