My chainsaw is leaking gas, a lot of gas when its running. It looks like its coming from the cap to the tank but I guess it could be the fuel line. Should this be hard to fix or figure out what it is?

it should be an easy fix. how old is it? its possible that a line cracked or gasket on fuel cap dried and tore. if it only leaks when running its a cracked line.

Sounds like a busted line somewhere. At ten years old they probably all need to be changed anyway.

Stihl caps have been known to have leaking problems. You can research it on the Internet. Some caps are faulty and you can look up yours to see if it's one of the shitty ones.

How is this gonna fix the leak?

OP you've got a leak in your fuel lines may as well replace them all

Just another casualty due to ethanol.

Ethanol eats fuel lines.

the oil and gas caps both have a relatively thick rubber gasket beneath them....replace both and see if it is still leaking...
