There is no more ISIS and no more ISIL. Only the Islamic State.

Abu Baker al-Baghdadi is now Caliph Ibrahim.

Hello Khilafa.

There's gonna be Hell to pay when the paper hits Obama's desk tomorrow.

I wonder if Obama has heard about this on the news yet?

And a side note... My brother has an SKS. Is that what's in that top pic in the article? When I held it yesterday, I felt like jumping up and down and taking over a country. Those are some bad mofo's. I can't wait until he lets me shoot it.

Charlie Cooper, a researcher for the Quilliam counter-extremism think-tank, said the fact Baghdadi has been named Caliph was particularly controversial. He told The Independent: “There hasn’t been a Caliph since the Ottoman Empire, and the Caliph is appointed as the only legitimate successor to Prophet Mohammed.” “The fact that Isis has done this has huge ideological and theological implications and it is a big challenge to al-Qa’ida, their spokespeople may well try to reclaim their legitimacy.”

Well...this will be interesting.

Does that mean that they're going to start fighting each other even more?

Oh yeah

I have hopes this is going to backfire on IS/ISIS in a major way. They may be taking this too far too fast. But the chance of them succeeding is scary.

I'm hopeful that he continues to do nothing. Its going to be a real shite show soon, with the Russians and Iranians getting involved with the spineless Iraqi Shia. The article in the OP says that Maliki is trying to buy more used jets from Belarus too. Hell, maybe China will get involved too, since they are the largest Iraqi oil purchaser.

Maliki maybe is more inclusive that he's been accused, however, since there could be American drones, Russian & Belarus jet fighters, and Iranian troops on the ground. East meets West - Christians & Muslims fighting together.

Given the massive success and name recognition given to ISIS recently, there could be a small chance they all say f@ck it and just roll with it.

The next few days project to be pretty interesting.

They will just kill all dissenters, and the alternative will just be to "get holy." I imagine they'll have some success.

Eta. Russia will be interested, I'm sure

I've only been able to follow this during the week via TD and some news when I get home from work. I wish my work let us have access to the outside world when we are there.

This is fascinating and frightening. What he could do if believed to be the prophet's successor...

The good new is "they" are becoming more organized. Because of this they will be easier to take down in future conflicts.

How else could one give KSA and Iran reason to agree shut this shite down with the quickness?

Flip side is what if they can't shut this down...
