Good Lord. Went to go book on July 11th and 12th and that shite is over $1000. I was expecting $200 something a night, but it was $499 and $599. Is this typical, or is there some kind of special occasion?

You just want to get away, or is it to gamble? Bay St Louis will have their second Saturday festivities if you could find a house to rent, be a helluva lot cheaper than one grand. You could still go gamble.

My wife is going in a few weeks for a girls night 79 bucks but it's a Thursday night. The next night (Friday) it's 599. Who pays that for rooms there?

It doesn't mean they are necessarily getting any customers paying the $599 cash a night for the room.
However, they might be close to full occupancy from comping casino players that on average spend $700 a night in the casino.
Finally, they could be completely sold out (all 1,700 rooms) and the $599 is what they would need to justify overbooking and potentially walking a late arrival (who booked at a much lower rate) to another hotel and the long term damage to that customer. This happens a lot more than people would expect...

Get a jr suite at the Gold Nugget. If you get a king bed, the tub is in the room
Reserve a pool cabana and you'll have a great time.

My wife is there this weekend. I just got off the phone with her and she told me they had to move rooms yesterday. Then once they got to the new room, they pulled the sheets back and found a pair of socks so apparently the sheets weren't changed.

I was trying to do a weekend with the family at the golden nugget since they have the new pool and all. No thanks.
Their weekend prices are just stupid for such a shitty little place.

Probably spend less driving just a little further to orange beach.

Not doing that for a weekend stay though.

Yes, they are getting people to pay this. The coast is packed this weekend and next. Very few hotels have rooms available.

As shitty as the ot loves to say the coast is, it is full right now, and people are paying top dollar for the rooms. No one is begging you to stay. They seem to be functioning just fine without your business.

New pool was nice. We went 3 weekends ago and had a blast.
A lot of folks were bringing beer in their beach bag. Hard to blame them when a bucket of 5 brews was $25 at the pool bar.
But it was a nice quick close getaway.

Good for the coast.

that is the premier spot in town on a weekend during peak season...and if I remember right, they have some type of cirque-type show there right now...
my go-to spot is the imperial palace....it is not quite as nice as the beau or the hard rock, but it is still damn good and should run a couple of hundred a night this time of year on weekends...

They allow outside drinks at the pool. No need to hide it

I think the coast is a great place, but I hate everything casino and loathe the fact that people view that as the main attraction. BSL is glorious today.

Bsl is an awesome city. However, let's be honest, the casinos are a vital part to our tourism. Next year the baseball stadium will be great as well

My only gripe about the Beau is that the poolside food service shuts down at 4 pm (although you can still get beverages).
My guess is that this is to limit your afternoon and dinner dining options to the pricey restaurants inside.
Heaven forbid if you want a burger with your beer, after 3:45 pm, while at the pool, on a weekend getaway. They could charge high prices, ie 10-12 dollars for that burger and I'd buy it, but the Beau is all about keeping you inside and dropping bigger coin.
